The Circuit will initiate, encourage, support and co-ordinate its local churches in regular worship of God, spreading the Gospel of Christ, growth in faith and caring and effective Christian service in local communities |
The church stands in the Conservation Area of Randwick village, in the shelter of the hillside topped by National Trust woodland.
We are an Anglican/Methodist Ecumenical Partnership, dating from 1987, with a Constitution Covenant and some members confirmed in both traditions. We also have a link with a R.C. Convent with a residential home attached, which is in the parish, where a monthly Anglican communion service is held.
The congregation covers a wide age range and is from all backgrounds. Church members involve themselves in many different Randwick & Stroud activities, and try to promote benefice social events. We have the reputation of being a 'welcoming' church.

Books available for Methodist-led services are 'Mission Praise' and 'Hymns & Psalms'.
Informal. We maintain a pattern of varied weekly worship, with B.C.P., Common Worship and Methodist Services which we want to see continued.
30 - 35 in the morning, 10 - 15 in the evening.
We want to see the strong links with our C.of E. Primary School continued and also reaching out to pre-school groups and other young people in the parish. There is a Sunday Club and a need for encouragement for a developing Sunday Workshop for young people and adults. There is already out-reach through our Music Group, but we see a need to encourage Christian fellowship with the 18 to 40 age group in the parish. Our existing links with the village community are important and we want to see them develop further. Home visits and support for the elderly, house-bound and sick in the parish are co-ordinated by the church. Active support for the L.E.P., Local Ministry Team, house groups and prayer group is also very important.
The tenth-century tower holds 6 bells which are regularly rung by the team of 'Randwick Ringers'.
The population of the parish is over 1100, spread between traditional hillside village and newer housing estates at its lower end. Changes in house ownership have resulted in younger families moving into the village. There is a strong community feeling in Randwick, with its village hall much used and being updated, its weekly news-sheet and its many flourishing societies. The church and the village provide two-way support and co-operation. The 'Friends of Randwick Church' give money which helps with up-keep, many volunteers help with the cleaning and an annual Gift Day is held throughout the parish which is generously supported. Ways in which the Church offers support include special co-operation in the traditional May time celebration and fair and availability of the church building for exhibitions and school assemblies. The village choir meets for practice in the church and supports our special services
The church building is in good condition, and dates largely from the late nineteenth century, when it had to be renovated and re-modelled. Recently installed is a sound system with hearing loop. Attached to the church is the John Wesley Room, with a toilet and'small kitchen area, which was built in 1992 with a large contribution from the sale of the Methodist Chapel.
